GENDER ROLES AND APPLICATION OF VYGOTSKY'S THEORIES

This site has been created by an IBSL Psychology student studying Developmental Psychology. It explores theories on cognitive and gender development in children that the student has studied as part of their Developmental Psychology Unit. An observational investigation carried out by the student at an international school is also used to discuss the implications and applications of the theories studied. The observational study investigates the following question: To what extent can gender roles influence the application of Vygotsky's theories on the zone of proximal development and scaffolding for learning in children?
